DESCRIPTION:Laboratory of  TINTING  with the HERBS\nof the Mediterranean flora And on dye variants in other cultures\nMaster dyer  \n  Emilio Ortu Lieto*\n\nin Morrona di Terricciola (Pisa)\non the rolling hills of Pisa  \nSaturday, May 18, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.\nTINTORIE herb recognition and collection walk.\nconducted by Silvia Zublena\nAgronomist, head of the Botanical Garden of Pisa.\nSunday, May 19, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with vegetarian lunch break\nNatural Dyeing Workshop\nEach participant will be given a silk scarf dyed during the workshop\nYou can also attend the single day but full attendance is recommended\nWe will learn about the  dyeing herbs of the Mediterranean flora.\nYou will be able to learn how to dye with some of the plants traditionally used to dye cotton, wool, silk and linen.\nThe workshop is a true initiation into the art of dyeing; you will later be able to repeat natural dye baths on your own.\nA small folder  with sample cards of yarns dyed with the herbs used during the workshop will be made, to take home.\nWe will use stamps and  ancient dyeing systems, Indian Renaissance technique of dyeing and printing together. Rehearsal of Japanese Shibori with indigo.\nCross-cultural variations and curiosities in Asia and Africa will be discussed.\nProgram and info//registration\n\n
