Cosa è il WWOOF?
A worldwide community
WWOOF Italia is part of the Federation of WWOOF Organisations (FoWO), a worldwide community promoting natural agriculture and sustainable lifestyles.
WWOOF started in 1971 in the UK and represents one of the first educational and cultural exchange opportunities in the world. WWOOF today exists in 132 countries (and the number is constantly growing). To be a member of WWOOF is to actively support the worldwide ecological movement.

Become a WWOOFer
Chi è un WWOOFer: a person visiting a WWOOF Host (organic farmer) who helps with day-to-day activities while learning about organic farming techniques and sustainable lifestyles.
As a WWOOFer, you will be taking part in the daily life of your host family or community and sharing accommodation and meals with them.
You can learn practical knowledge in organic farming and sustainable living on farms, small rural realities, family gardens, orchards, vineyards, urban gardens, cooperatives, etc. that share the WWOOF philosophy.
Please bear in mind that WWOOF is not a paid job; hosts do not offer monetary compensation.
You are responsible for contacting the hosts and makeing arrangements for your stay: we cannot help you with this.
You are also responsible for obtaining your visa and paying your transportation and personal expenses.

Become a HOST
Chi è un WWOOF Host:  a farmer or cultivator who wishes to host WWOOFers (visitors) for an exchange of knowledge on sustainable agriculture.
WWOOF Italia publishes a list of organic farms (certification is not essential) and sustainable rural realities throughout the country.
Any farm, community or garden project that uses organic methods and wants to participate in a cultural and educational exchange can join.
Usually, WWOOFers participate in the various typical activities that take place on a farm or in a rural environment. WWOOFers are welcomed as part of an exchange that is not monetary, but educational and cultural, sharing the lifestyle of their hosts.
Hosts describe their projects and realities on their profile, including their location and other useful information.
WWOOFers contact a potential host based on their interests and organise their stay prior to their arrival by making arrangements directly with the host regarding accommodation and activities.
