Sunday, May 19, 2024<\/strong> from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with vegetarian lunch break
\nNatural Dyeing Workshop<\/strong><\/p>\n

Each participant will be given a silk scarf dyed during the workshop<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

You can also attend the single day but full attendance is recommended<\/p>\n

We will learn about the dyeing herbs<\/strong> of the Mediterranean flora.
\nYou will be able to learn how to dye with some of the plants traditionally used to dye cotton<\/em>, wool<\/em>, silk<\/em> and linen<\/em>.
\nThe workshop is a true initiation into the art of dyeing<\/strong>; you will later be able to repeat natural dye baths on your own.
\nA small folder <\/strong> with sample cards of yarns dyed with the herbs<\/em> used during the workshop will be made, to take home.
\nWe will use stamps<\/em> and ancient dyeing systems<\/em>, Indian Renaissance technique of dyeing and printing together. Rehearsal of Japanese Shibori with indigo.
\nCross-cultural variations and curiosities in Asia and Africa will be discussed.<\/p>\n
