It is very frustrating for the host not receiving a follow-up from WWOOFers about requested visit: if you don’t confirm or cancel the visit request they cannot know your final plans. While planning your travel you have to focus on lots of details, and you might forget to continue correspondence on arrangements that you have no intention of confirming. In fact, it may seem superfluous to you to let hosts know that you no longer intend to visit them. Remember that on the other side there is a person who had made it available to open his or her home for you. Please do not leave accepted visit requests from hosts unconfirmed. <\/p>\n\n

With a few simple gestures you can help hosts better organize their hospitality.<\/p>\n\n

\u27a1\ufe0f Always cancel requests for pending or accepted visits that you have no intention of confirming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This may be your first instinctive response to our solicitation. Imitating undesirable behaviors will certainly not solve the problem!<\/p>\n\n

From the hosts we can after all expect some more difficulty in spending time on the site and messaging: they are dedicated to their farm more than to their devices!!! \ud83d\udc69\u200d\ud83c\udf3e\ud83c\udf46\ud83e\udd55\ud83e\udd6c<\/p>\n\n

To cope waiting times without frustration, keep an eye on the response rates and times that are visible on the hosts’ profiles. If you don’t find a visit request button on a host’s profile, it is because it has been disabled due to its low response rate. <\/p>\n\n

This mechanism will prevent WWOOFers from writing to hosts who have been unable to maintain timely correspondence over the past six months. On the other hand, it will allow hosts with a low response rate to take a break and return contactable only when they have the right conditions to respond to traveling members on time. <\/p>\n\n

Why respond promptly?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

Hosts are facilitated in keeping commitments if they have timely communication from you. If you respond within a short time you help hosts plan their hosting activities better. Good correspondence sets the stage for quality relationship and collaboration. <\/p>\n\n

When does a failure to communicate become serious?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

If your plans change suddenly and you have to cancel an already confirmed visit, remember to notify the host as soon as possible to allow him or her to rearrange in the best possible way. <\/p>\n\n

Forgetting to cancel your commitment and having the host arrive at an agreed upon appointment without showing up is a serious disrespect and could result in your suspension from WWOOFing activities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

Once the Host has accepted the visit request it is up to the WWOOFer to give a final confirmation.
