{"id":17884,"date":"2024-03-19T09:40:32","date_gmt":"2024-03-19T09:40:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/org.wwoof.it\/2024\/03\/symbiosis-call-for-the-protection-of-natural-capital\/"},"modified":"2024-03-19T09:40:33","modified_gmt":"2024-03-19T09:40:33","slug":"symbiosis-call-for-the-protection-of-natural-capital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/org.wwoof.it\/en\/2024\/03\/symbiosis-call-for-the-protection-of-natural-capital\/","title":{"rendered":"Symbiosis call for the protection of natural capital"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">aimed at the territories of Piedmont, Liguria and Valle d&#8217;Aosta<\/h2>\n\n<div style=\"height:43px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>The Annual Report on the State of Natural Capital in Italy, in its fifth edition opens by pointing out a significant constitutional novelty: the recognition among the fundamental principles of the Italian Republic, of the <strong>&#8220;protection of the environment, biodiversity and ecosystems, including in the interest of future generations.&#8221;<\/strong> The Report highlights the need to expand the number and size of protected natural areas and to integrate ecological corridors in order to achieve the goal of protecting at least 30 percent of land and marine areas by 2030, compared with 21.7 percent of protected land and 11.2 percent of protected marine areas today, according to ISPRA data.<\/p>\n\n<p>National and European environmental and climate policies are inspired by the strategies of the  <strong>Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation<\/strong>, thereby also reinforcing local choices, chief among them the city of Turin&#8217;s commitment to become net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
