There are days that remember why we are part of WWOOF Italy, and the one spent on April 12 in “Terra Pagana,”<\/strong> guests of Marta and Michele in Piano di Sorrento<\/strong>, was definitely one of them. We got together among members from Campania<\/strong> for the sake of being together and to give voice to that sense of belonging that often, in the routine of the camps, runs the risk of being overshadowed. <\/p>\n\n

The heart of our meeting was a reflection on what it really means to be an association<\/strong>. It became clear how crucial it is to move from the idea of an “exchange platform” to that of an active community<\/strong>. Meeting live allows us to turn doubts into confrontation and the daily labors of hospitality into shared experiences<\/strong>, making us feel less alone. <\/p>\n\n

Between chats, we ranged over many topics that closely touch our association life:<\/p>\n\n

From the delicacy of the coordinators’ role in welcoming new entities, to the desire to imagine new forms of networking<\/strong> to shorten the distance between city and country, to the importance of feeling protected and prepared in the face of bureaucratic challenges. We also looked up beyond our borders, talking about the international federation (FOWO) and how the values of WWOOF can remain a benchmark even in complex global contexts. <\/p>\n\n

There was no shortage of time for training and recounting of the recent gathering, with the idea increasingly alive to create spaces for discussion, including online, between those with more experience and those just beginning this journey.<\/p>\n\n

And then, of course, there was lunch<\/strong>. A “very WWOOF” moment: hearty, wholesome and shared, where each dish brought from home told a little piece of us. <\/p>\n\n

We go home with the certainty that networking is not just a theoretical concept, but a warmth that you can feel under your skin when you look into each other’s eyes around a table. Thanks to Marta and Michele for the welcome and to everyone present for the beautiful energy! <\/p>\n\n
