is there a correlation?

In the 1930s, in the plains area of the United States in which for years the Cultivated and exploited soil with the new chemical agriculture “as if there were no tomorrow,” more than 300 episodes of sandstorms made evident a cornerstone of agriculture (which had always been known): food production cannot be separated from soil fertility, which is maintained by crop rotation and increasing stable organic matter (humus) in the cultivated horizon.

Indiscriminate exploitation of the soil byintensive agriculture has reduced this resource to a sterile substrate, on which performance seeds (when not GMOs), pesticides, and synthetic fertilizers are intervened to obtain the expected harvest.

  • First result: disappearance of terrestrial fauna.
  • Second result: drastic decrease in organic matter.

Today, one need only ask an agro-mechanical operator (better known as a contractor) who has at least passed the retirement threshold to be told that, compared to 30 years ago, the power required to plow the same field has-at the very least- tripled, but perhaps even worse. And this is nothing more than the result of the continuous exploitation of agrarian land with always the same crops or stunted rotations.
