Discover, Learn, Participate
After the great success of the past years, Scandicci (FI) returns to transform itself into the capital of agrobiodiversity. Also for 2026, the “72 Hours for Biodiversity” festival is confirmed as a must-attend event for those who want to celebrate and protect our natural and agricultural heritage.
Organized by Rural Seeds Network ETS with the collaboration of WWOOF Italy and numerous local entities, the event will enliven the city on two key dates: May 20 (National Day of Biodiversity of Agricultural and Food Interest) and May 22 (World Biodiversity Day).
Dates to mark in your diary
This year the beating heart of the festival will be concentrated on the days of: May 22, 23 and 24, 2026
What to expect in this edition
As always, the program will be very rich and distributed in the symbolic places of local biodiversity, from the Acciaiolo Castle Park to the Gardens of Diversity and the House of Agrobiodiversity.

Here is a taste of what you will find:
- Hands-on workshops: for young and old to learn about seeds and sustainable growing techniques.
- Diversity Farmers’ Market: a showcase for local organic producers and artisans.
- Debates and Conferences: meetings with experts to reflect on the challenges of climate change and the importance of free seeds.
- Convivial moments: social lunches, concerts and theater performances to celebrate the earth in celebration.
Why participate?
“72 Hours for Biodiversity” is not just a festival, but a unique opportunity to understand how our daily choices – starting with what we decide to put on our plates – can make a difference to the well-being of the planet. It is the perfect opportunity to meet the WWOOF Italy community, exchange experiences and connect with those who practice organic farming every day.
Participating is simple!
