Aurora recounts her experience of WWOOFing

There are people who experience on themselves how WWOOF is not only a vacation, but also a way to change their lives. Some of these then decide to share their experiences, and through their words we also happen to feel inside the curious and rich adventures of cgi goes for farms. Aurora Faletti, a young literary farmer, is one of those happy cases where words go perfectly with facts: for months she has been moving around in van together with her boyfriend Luca doing WWOOFing, and of this she never fails to leave a colorful and precise trace in her blog.

Why do they do it? “Because we would like to create something of our own, and the best way to go deeper we believe is by learning from those who are already doing it and living it on a daily basis. A little month in each Italian region, we start in the South and slowly work our way up.”

Let us go up with them, then, starting with Sardinia: a land of magic and toil, of poets and hermits, of shepherds and welcoming. Happy reading.

We have just been to Sardinia. I know that now you have in mind the crystal-clear beaches and caves and coastal clubs. Never mind, it’s a different Sardinia I’m telling you about here.

From a Shepherd in Barbagia (Oliena, Nuoro. Ovile Havallai by Antonio Putzu).

We spent two weeks in Barbagia, which is the inland part of the island, the more raw and authentic, more traditional part. No tourists in Barbagia. Just land and wind and wild dogs.
