New EU Regulation also includes sheep and goats

In 2021, exactly in the Official Journal L 297/2 of August 20, Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1374 had been published, which made changes to theAnnex III of Regulation (EC) No. 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council on specific hygiene requirements for food of animal origin.

With this regulatory review, in the Section I, immediately after Chapter VI had been inserted the Chapter VIa entitled. “Slaughter at the farm of origin of domestic animals of the bovine species, other than bison, and of the porcine species and domestic solipeds, excluding emergency slaughter” , which introduced the possibility of slaughtering up to three pets of the species cattle, (no bison), or six pigs or three domestic solipeds, on the same occasion at the farm of origin, if authorized by the competent authority and managed in accordance with the following requirements:
