New GMOs. The methods of identification

The outcome of a study in Germany

Germany’s Federal Office for Agriculture and Food reports the favorable outcome of a study on effective methods of detecting and identifying plants whose genomes have been modified through New Genomic Techniques (NGTs), or ‘new GMOs’

At the same time, however, the study reveals the need at present to know precisely which genetic mutation to look for.

Moreover, the results already achieved are enough to disprove the theories of Big Ag and the European Commission that deregulation of new GMOs is also necessary because NGTs are indistinguishable.
