Agro-ecology and international solidarity, direct action practices

Above all, doing agro-ecological farming means activating a practice of resistance and struggle that results in constant political activism.

There is no agro-ecology without struggle from below, without presence, confrontation, and participation. Incentivizing access to land, promoting the exchange of knowledge, agricultural tools, encouraging small-scale production, and ensuring free access to land to start peasant activities are some of the basic principles on which our thinking is based. In our world these are the battles, the enemy is agribusiness, genetic manipulation, patents on seeds.

Making bread, producing our own oil become political acts.
While we are sowing our wheat, pruning the vineyard, the olive tree, working the vegetable garden, we feel the value of what we are doing, each small action that binds and connects us to the care of our land and the regeneration of its biodiversity in an ecological way.

But ecology is above all a way of being and confronting others/others: as far as we are concerned, we find a close connection between acting ecologically and not being indifferent to our surroundings. In an age when those who shriek and scream take the political stage, those with power take reason, we want to act, without slogans or megaphones, but by claiming our actions and building new thinking from them.
We are not inventing anything new: the practice isdirect action, the engine that fuels it is solidarity, that form of active empathy that crosses the boundaries of our small worlds and connects us with other sister realities, with people who feel the need to join forces and put into practice concrete forms of active solidarity and mutual aid.
Social and human rights are collective, as collective and the responsibility each of us has in exercising them, passing them on, and sometimes even giving support to claim and defend them.
