On Friday 17 September, the national meeting of the associations belonging to the Campaign for Peasant Agriculture will be held in Mondeggi (FI), open to all those who wish to make a positive contribution.

The meeting is particularly important: in May for the first time the Chamber of Deputies approved the text of the “Provisions for the protection and enhancement of peasant agriculture” and in September we expect the start of the discussion at the Senate Agriculture Commission for final approval.

Now is the time to collectively take stock of the situation and determine what actions to take.

It’s time to collectively take stock of the situation and define what action to take.

Meeting Agenda:

• – Discussion regarding the text of the Draft Law to define indications/proposals to be addressed to the parliamentarians and brought to the hearings in the Commission;
• Reorganisation of the internal structure of the Farming Campaign:
• Definition of Working Groups, Coordination, people working there;
• Political perspectives of the Peasant Farming Campaign: collateral support initiatives, possible role following approval of the law.

Participation in the meeting is free.

Decisions on the items on the agenda will be reserved for the member associations.

We invite all the Campaign Associations to participate in the meeting and to indicate any further points to be discussed or operational proposals.

Each proposal presented must be accompanied by the commitment of the proposer to participate in its implementation.
A more detailed summary of the items on the agenda will follow in the next few days, also in the light of the indications received.

In the two days following the Assembly (18-19 September) Mondeggi will be the venue for the National Event “La Semina Contadina” which will include a March for the Earth on Saturday and thematic assemblies on Sunday. During the meeting of the Campaign we will be able to define if and how to participate as a Campaign and/or as individual members.

Further logistical information for participation in the meeting will follow shortly.

In any case, it is very important to announce your participation in advance.
