Initiative to deter organic companies involved

We may be close to the entry of new GMOs into Europe. If the deregulation proposal passes, plants obtained with New Genomic Techniques (NGT/TEA) could arrive in our fields and on our tables without being subject to environmental and health risk assessment, nor to the traceability and labeling requirements now required for GMOs, It would be goodbye to the precautionary principle and a choice with irreversible consequences for Europe’s agriculture and biodiversity.
he No-GMO group of “Changing the Field” (which was formed after the national conference in Rome in March 2024) is campaigning to block the introduction of new GMOs under discussion in the European Parliament.
The Meloni government has authorized field trials of these new plants until the end of 2025. After the destruction in June by unknown persons of the experimental rice field in the province of Pavia, other trials were authorized: tomato and grapevine. These experiments will be carried out on organic farms!

Organic farms should not lend themselves to the testing of new GMOs/TEAs!
