Participates in activities with staff

Dear members,

Pulling the sums of 2024, we were pleased to see the slow but steady increase in the soc@ of WWOOF Italy confirmed, as has been the case in recent years. The trust given by more and more people to WWOOF as an engine for a healthier and more harmonious life through the transmission of knowledge is definitely a positive fact.

As the number of members increases, the amount of work to be done grows proportionately, which the recent staff restructuring currently allows to be handled without too much difficulty.

Nevertheless, in order to alleviate the growing workloads,the idea arose within the Council Community to seek resources among the members themselves, who often combine skills in agriculture with many other qualities. This would be a first option to give the possibility to soc@ who would like to give their contribution in the management of some of the activities of the association’s life, avoiding, for the time being, the hypothesis of bringing in other paid staff or adding hours to the current staff, so as to try to keep alive that voluntary part that is so important for an association.

In consultation with the staff, five initial camps have been identified in which those among the members who have the time and inclination could begin to help out, working alongside those who already carry out these activities.

These are the fields identified

2026 calendar creation (write text, collect images, graphical design)
organizing meetings (organizing logistics and travel, helping during the days of the gatherings, creating a database with suitable places to host our meetings, etc.).

Project management (monitoring and mentoring on projects proposed and supported by WWOOF Italy).

At the Fano gathering in March there will be a special space to reason about this issue and organize work with those who want to make themselves available in these areas. We will be happy to welcome and reason with anyone who thinks they have some time and skills to experience the association more closely and lend a hand.
