From the Collective for Agroecological and Social Convergence.
The Collective for Agroecological and Social Convergence is made up of women farmers, activists, researchers, urban and rural dwellers from many different networks and organizations spread throughout the country.
We came together to promote a process of bringing together the different souls that make up the Italian Agroecology and Food Sovereignty movement.
In Rome from March 1-3, 2024, we held the first Peasant Conference which was attended by several hundred people.
The one in Rome was the first step on this path. An opportunity to gather and compare different and innovative ideas, people, forms of dialogue and organizational hypotheses for a path of convergence inspired by the values of sociocracy and sharing.
After the March 2024 meeting, the convergence work continued!
We promoted a national campaign against the new GMOs with wide feedback and participation throughout Italy.
We reframed the many reflections that emerged during the conference, drawing key insights for the continuation.
Finally, on the basis of the discussions that animated the three-day event, we tried to develop a political-organizational proposal that would enable the convergence process to continue operationally and effectively.
A proposal we will discuss together on June 15 and 16 in Rome at the City of the Other Economy to fine-tune and operationalize it (registration form here).
On the form you will find details and can express your willingness to participate in Changing the Field.
If you can fill it out by June 5 so as to give us time to read and process all the responses.
At the June 15-16 meeting in Rome we will define strategies to converge toward the common goal: to implement and popularize the agroecological critique of the industrial food system, to spread practices to save the food world and with it our planet and those who inhabit it in all its forms.
See you in Rome next June 15-16!
The Collective for Agroecological and Social Convergence.
