After the new derogation from the cross-compliance rules on nature spaces in the Common Agricultural Policy Regulation 2023-2027, the European Commission has proposed a further weakening of soil protection, crop rotation and pastureland with a package of further changes justified by “simplification” of European regulations and requesting their approval through an urgent procedure.

The pro-nature and climate protection strides made over the past twenty-five years are nullified with this proposal.
