AIDA has concluded the signature campaign and fired off the final version of the open letter to the relevant ministries.
“The Italian Association of Agroecology (AIDA), with the support of the associations that signed this letter, intends to make a contribution of reflection with respect to the situation that is being created around the issue of raw milk cheese production, from the perspective that distinguishes it, oriented to look at the health of people, animals and ecosystems in an integrated way.
The measures with which the Ministry of Health intends to manage the risk from Escherichia coli STEC and the media hype that has developed around the issue could have multiple repercussions on this mode of production. A technology whose benefits for human health and the balance of production systems and the environmental contexts in which they are located, as well as its relevance to the socio-economic fabric of so many Italian territories, are highlighted below. “
