The PDL for Farming Agriculture [i] passed in May 2021 because it was not approved by the Senate.

After more than 12 months stopped in the Agriculture Commission, the early end of the legislature therefore gave the coup de grace to the PDL which we believe should have passed without delay .

The lost historical opportunity is very serious . The climate, economic and social crises require a broad vision that the Senate did not have : no chance for hundreds of thousands of small farms , which during the pandemic demonstrated greater resilience capacity, to be recognized as fundamental components of the food chain.

Peasant Agriculture has a majority in Italy[ii], but there is a lack of adequate legislation that frames it within the various agriculture present, recognizing dignity and rights to those who work there for the safety and food sovereignty of the country for the benefit of the whole community.

A serious lack of legislation, which contributes to the systematic disappearance of small farms (down by 2/3 in the last 38 years [iii] land planting and planting thousands of hectares of land that add to the land-growing ] and invading thousands of land crops dangerous zoonoses.
