Luis Murrighile’s story for Italia che Cambia
The world of WWOOF and the world of ecovillages have always dialogued by communicating vessels, so much so that in the imagination of many they end up overlapping.
Some ecovillages in the RIVE are enrolled in WWOOF Italy’s network of Education Centers and host volunteers from all over the world; many people every year contact WWOOF Italy because they consider it a gateway to the RIVE.
In short, except for occasional occasions of participation in each other’s initiatives, relations develop quietly and in a completely informal manner.
We gladly host Luis’ account on our blog, which begins with this brief introduction:
“A few days ago the 24th summer gathering of the RIVE concluded. After a forced hiatus of three long years the historic gathering was held at the Meraki ecovillage. The nights in tents, cold showers and meals eaten on the lawn were reminiscent of music festivals, but what stuck in our heads after four days of sharing, love and collective growth is more than just a tune.”
