NOT THE USUAL OLIVE HARVEST!
During the olive harvesting period, at the Tribe of Sounding Walnuts you can learn an ancient and patient way to do this precious work! During the month of October, the main work is cleaning under the olive trees with hand tools (billhooks, sickles); from the beginning of November, the real harvest begins, slow and patient, first by picking the olives that have fallen to the ground and then, after putting up nets, by climbing the large centuries-old trees or from the ground with the help of rakes. In the meantime, one begins to clean the harvested olives, rolling them on a wooden board to separate them from leaves and twigs. Last effort, wheelbarrow transport of the crates ready for the mill along the little path that separates us from the paved road. There are two places available: those who feel like joining us in an “old-time” collection can contact the tribe by letter at: Via Torre 54, 60034 Cupramontana (AN) or text/whatsapp Agnese: 3408533773
Thank you very much! A smile
Agnes
