Traveling between WWOOF Italia farms without using cars
WWOOF Italia (wwoof.it) is an association which has a network of approximately 850 farms / educational centres, practicing natural farming as a lifestyle choice, able to accommodate our members from around the world, for stays of collaboration and learning. The possibility to travel between these farms in an environmentally friendly way and so in keeping with our values is an idea that came to some members and friends of WWOOF Italia who are undertaking to develop a project that encourages the creation and use of these means.
The project VieWWOOF aims to identify and then map out routes – which will then be available for all to use- to connect the WWOOF Italia farms, creating a network of communication routes for walking, cycling, by horse/donkey and eventually by public transport, finding hospitality in stop overs en route. To strengthen exchanges within the WWOOF network and its various geographical areas, with an easy and economical to produce method, with consultation and sharing, to enable and encourage an inexpensive and natural way of moving and traveling. Covering an area we know in silence and in the natural environment / culture, the care of which is the starting point of any natural farming. The network, starting with WWOOF farms, will be open up the territory and other existing routes, making them more available to the growing nation of walkers.
