WWOOF Italia supports a school vegetable garden project in Pergola (PU) which is a pilot scheme for the Marche region and has been going since 2007. About 200 elementary school children are involved in growing vegetables, legumes and forage crops in an area of about 1500m2. The produce is used in the school kitchen and in some cases is also processed, for example maize made into Polenta.
